Injection-molded plastic

HERMETICHERMETIC + EMI FILTERED
ENGINEERED TO REQUIREMENT

OVERVIEW

Designed around
the application.

RCV uses injection-molded PEEK plastic for a robust alternative to glass construction. The approach offers performance close to glass with the mechanical robustness of a plastic insert. Choose a hermetic configuration or combine the connector interface with EMI filtering, with sealing and electrical requirements reviewed for your application.

01

Typical Configurations

  • Hermetic connectors without EMI filtering
  • Hermetic filtered connectors with integrated EMI filtering
  • MIL-DTL-38999 (D38999) family requirements
  • MIL-DTL-26482, MIL-DTL-5015, and MIL-DTL-83723 family requirements
02

Applications

  • Connector interfaces with defined sealing requirements
  • Equipment requiring both sealing and EMI filtering
  • Programs evaluating a PEEK alternative to glass construction

Why RCV

  • Injection-molded PEEK construction
  • Plastic insert robustness in place of glass
  • Filtered and non-filtered configurations
  • Direct review of mechanical, sealing, and electrical requirements

MATERIAL, SEALING & FILTERING

A PEEK approach to hermetic connector construction.

The insert material is the defining difference: RCV uses injection-molded PEEK in place of glass. This plastic construction is intended for applications seeking glass-like performance with greater mechanical robustness. Final sealing performance depends on the connector configuration and the required test conditions.

For hermetic filtered connectors, define the sealing requirement alongside the EMI requirement. Share the frequencies of concern, required attenuation, operating voltage, current, and signal characteristics so the filtering can be considered with the complete connector design.

RCV supports the standard connector families already offered across our product range, including 38999, 26482, 5015, and 83723. Send the exact series, shell size, contact arrangement, termination, and drawing for configuration review. Family references identify the requested interface; qualification and acceptance requirements are reviewed for each application.

How does the PEEK construction differ from glass?

The connector uses injection-molded PEEK plastic in place of a conventional glass insert. RCV’s approach targets performance close to glass while providing the mechanical robustness of plastic construction.

Can the connector include EMI filtering?

Yes. RCV offers both hermetic and hermetic filtered connector configurations. Specify whether filtering is required and provide the electrical and EMI requirements for review.

Which connector families can I discuss with RCV?

Share requirements for MIL-DTL-38999 (D38999), MIL-DTL-26482, MIL-DTL-5015, or MIL-DTL-83723 families, including the exact series, shell, insert arrangement, and termination.

What information is needed to evaluate sealing performance?

Provide the required leak rate, test method, test medium, pressure differential, temperature range, and acceptance criteria. RCV can review these requirements against the proposed configuration.
