TECHNICAL RESOURCES

Testing &
Environmental Capabilities.

Electrical, mechanical, and environmental testing support for connector and filter programs, with scope defined around the product and its installation.

01 / ENVIRONMENTAL & MECHANICAL

Define the conditions the assembly must withstand.

RCV can perform or arrange testing in the areas below. Confirm the applicable method, revision, category, severity, duration, sample configuration, and acceptance criteria with engineering before establishing the program test plan.

Power and field exposure

Discuss 28 VDC power-interface requirements under MIL-STD-704E and program-specific HIRF exposure requirements. Identify the applicable revision, waveforms, field levels, installation, and pass/fail criteria in the test request.

Filter performance and sealing

Provide the required attenuation-versus-frequency data and measurement conditions for filter evaluation. Helium leak testing can be discussed for sealed configurations; specify the leak-rate limit and method. Salt-fog scope should identify exposure and post-test acceptance requirements.

Standard reference: RTCA — DO-160 environmental conditions and test procedures for airborne equipment.

03 / PROGRAM TEST PLANNING

Make the test scope part of the requirement.

Product and installation

  • Part number, drawing revision, shell, contacts, filter configuration, and termination.
  • Mounting, mating connector, grounding, harness, PCB, and enclosure details.
  • Powered state, monitored circuits, operating modes, and sample quantities.

Methods and acceptance

  • Standard and revision, applicable sections, categories, levels, and duration.
  • Test sequence, preconditioning, and inspections before and after exposure.
  • Electrical limits, mechanical criteria, witnessing, reporting, and schedule.

Define whether the work is development evaluation, qualification, or production acceptance. Agree on the configuration, scope, and evidence needed before testing begins.

04 / QUALITY & DOCUMENTATION

Connect results to the delivered configuration.

RCV’s AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system covers the design and production of EMI filters and filtered connectors. Product qualification is established through the applicable test scope and records.

Specify required reports, acceptance data, configuration identification, and traceability with the RFQ. Ask engineering which existing records apply to your configuration and which evaluations need to be planned.
